Klara Sputova, MD, MPH, is a plastic surgeon with expertise in both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. Annie M. Wang, MD, is a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon specializing in breast cancer reconstruction and lymphedema. In addition to the full spectrum of techniques for breast reconstruction, she’s trained in microvascular autologous breast reconstruction, where the patient’s own tissue is used to restore a breast. She is also an expert in lymphedema and has specific expertise in reconstructive lymphatic microsurgery and supermicrosurgery. Wang is an assistant professor in the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Wang pursued her medical education at the prestigious University of Toronto, where she not only earned her medical degree but also completed a Master of Science in system leadership and innovation at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME). This dual focus gave her a deep understanding of clinical practice and health system management, equipping her with a unique perspective on improving patient care and surgical outcomes. Following medical school, Wang completed her residency in plastic surgery at the University of Toronto, where she further refined her surgical skills in reconstructive and aesthetic procedures and was known for her commitment to excellence and dedication to advancing patient care. To build on her expertise, Wang pursued a fellowship in microvascular reconstruction and microsurgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, a premier institution for cancer treatment and research. During her fellowship, she focused on her two passions, breast reconstruction and lymphedema surgery. Outside of work, her greatest joy is her family.
