Avani Baral, M.D.

Riya Goyal, M.D. is a radiologist specializing in Abdominal Imaging. She is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Radiologist at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital-WeillCornell Campus.Dr. Goyal attended Harvard College for her undergraduate degree, graduating in 2012 with a B.A. in Human Evolutionary Biology and minor in Global Health and Health Policy. She then received her M.D. at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in 2018.Following an internship at Plainview Hospital, Dr. Goyal completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Northwell Health at North Shore/LIJ in2023. After this, she completed her fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2024.Dr. Goyal joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine in August 2024 as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology.

Jessica Patel, M.D. is a fellowship-trained radiologist with specialization in Cardiothoracic and Abdominal Imaging. She is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Radiologist at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus.Dr. Patel graduated from University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida where she earned her B.S in Biomedical Sciences in 2013 and where she earned her M.D in 2016. Following a transitional internship at Beaumont Hospital in Michigan, Dr. Patel completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Mount Sinai West, New York in 2021.She completed her fellowship in Cardiothoracic and Abdominal Imaging at NewYork Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine in 2022. Dr. Patel joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine in August 2022 as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology, as a member of the Cardiothoracic and Body Imaging Divisions.

Joanna K. Weeks, M.D., is a radiologist specializing in Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Imaging and Therapy. She is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine in the Division of Interventional Radiology and an Assistant Attending Radiologist at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell. Dr. Weeks joined the Weill Cornell faculty in 2024 after completing her residency and fellowships in Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Imaging and Therapy at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She served as Chief Fellow in Nuclear Radiology from 2022 to 2023. In 2023, she was recognized for her commitment to delivering patient-centered care with the Pendergrass Quality & Safety Award. In 2024, she received a POWERS Award for her exemplary work advancing the status of women in radiology. She earned her M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in 2018 and completed her internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2019.Dr. Weeks is passionate about providing patient-centered care in radiology. She is interested in establishing longitudinal care relationships with patients, especially in oncology, oncology-related pain, lymphatics, portal hypertension, and dialysis access. Her research interests in nuclear imaging include novel tracers in oncology and lymphatics and hybrid approaches to care utilizing non-invasive infusion and interventional techniques. She is actively involved in teaching and mentorship and in advancing the goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion in medicine.
