Fountain Valley Police Department

Fountain Valley Police Department comprises patrol division, traffic, detective and records bureau and communications department. The department offers various services to the residents, including traffic enforcement, neighborhood watch and business coalition meetings, community problem-solving activities, ongoing police training and numerous other law enforcement functions. Its detective bureau provides follow-up investigations on various criminal matters. Commanded by a detective lieutenant, the bureau comprises a detective sergeant, five full-time investigators, civilian court liaisons, and civilian crime analysts. Its detective bureau also handles specific assignments, such as the investigation of crimes against persons, juvenile and sexual assaults, forgery and checks, residential and commercial burglaries, and auto theft and miscellaneous crimes. Located in Fountain Valley, Calif., the department s specialized units include special weapons and tactics, K9 and crisis negotiation teams, and field training officer programs.
