The Santa Monica Rent Control Board offers a range of consulting, referral and surveying services. It provides information on a variety of rent-controlled properties, such as single-family residences, apartments, condominiums and houses. The board conducts hearings regarding individual rent increases and decreases. It works to resolve disputes between owners and tenants about rent overcharges and property maintenance issues. The board additionally offers online ownership registration forms. The Santa Monica Rent Control Board is a part of the city of Santa Monica, Calif., which operates through community maintenance, fire, human resources, and planning and community development departments. The city also maintains police, public works, and records and election services departments.

The Torrance Juvenile Diversion Program is a division of the Torrance Police Department. Mental health professionals and police personnel work together to provide a range of intervention and prevention programs. The program coordinates youth-related programs between the city of Torrance, Torrance Unified School District and other community agencies. Programs designed to assist youth and their families include individual and family therapy that focuses on family problems, adolescent adjustment, delinquent behavior, substance abuse and child abuse; group counseling sessions accessible at high schools and middle schools that focuses on school and personal problems; wilderness experience/juvenile diversion, which is a unique blend of wilderness experience combined with group counseling; and the fire setters program where diversion personnel work in conjunction with the Torrance Fire Department to provide assessment and intervention for youths relating to fire problems. The Torrance Juvenile Diversion Program is located in Torrance, Calif.
