Muker Literary Institute was built in 1864, to provide a venue for residents to meet. Its historic importance and iconic design has been recognised in its Grade 2 Listed status. The lower room now holds a small exhibition of photos and artefacts which shows aspects of Muker from the past including its historic Silver Band.
