The Marian Center for Peace of Wisconsin Rapids is an official teaching outreach for the Shroud of Turin Center of Colorado owned and operated by Dr. John and Rebecca Jackson. As a teaching center, one of the goals of the Marian Center for Peace is to provide education about the Shroud of Turin. "The Shroud of Turin is a linen cloth 14 feet 3 inches long by 3 feet 7 inches wide, bearing the highly distinct Image of a Crucified Man. Since the sixteenth century, the Shroud, believed by many to be the burial cloth of Christ, has been kept in St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Turin, Italy. From August until October 2000, the Shroud was displayed publicly -- for the last time -- in Turin, Italy. The previous public exhibition was in 1998 and, prior to that, 1978 and even before that, 1933, 1931, and 1898." (Shroud Description by) As a teaching center for the Shroud of Turin Center of Colorado, the Marian Center for Peace maintains a full-sized back-lighted photograph of the entire Shroud of Turin which it houses alongside of a life-size negative image of the Shroud. The negative image provides an actual positive representation of the crucified man of the Shroud (see The Shroud and Modern Science for an explanation of this).
