As a new building in a historic district, The Kimpton Journeyman Hotel respects the past while incorporating the best of the present. It all starts in the lobby, where big windows, a grand chandelier, thoughtful art, and a concrete stenciled floor welcome neighbors and travelers alike — with furniture grouped to facilitate everything from striking up a conversation over a glass of wine to settling in by the fireplace with a book. Rooms are eclectic yet familiar, with well-worn carpets that feel like an heirloom, footstools packed with helpful info inside, and a desk that’s beautiful in its rough, hand-hewn form. There’s so much to do here — like challenge a buddy to a game of giant Connect 4 at our rooftop restaurant and bar The Outsider, or pick up a picnic basket from on-site Mediterranean-inspired restaurant Tre Rivali — and even more to do right outside our front steps in the bustling Third Ward neighborhood.
