Established in 1985 in Hartland, Wis., Color Ink began as an extension of a commercial art studio, which offered print brokering services. By 1988, Color Ink had installed three Heidelberg printing presses and was outgrowing the Hartland location. In 1989, the company relocated to Sussex, Wis., where it occupies a 100,000-square-foot building and employs nearly 100 people. The firm has worked on projects for companies such as Coca Cola and Dyson. Color Ink offers a digital photography studio; digital prepress department; digital printing center; variable data services; pressroom equipped with eight sheetfed printing presses; bindery; specialty finishing services, which includes die-cutting/foil stamping; and mailing and fulfillment operations with warehousing facilities.
