Beerntsen's

Beerntsen s Confectionery, founded by Joseph Beerntsen in 1932, is a family-owned business in Manitowoc, Wis. In business for more than 50 years, the confectionery specialises in more than 125 different types of candies and chocolates including caramel corn, fudges, suckers, peanut brittles and glazes, nut brittles, dinner mints, hard candy pillows, candy canes, ribbon candy, hard candy cherries and apples, opera sticks and molded chocolate novelties. It also makes ice cream and toppings including syrups and marshmallow, roasted peanuts, cashews, almonds and pecans and buys chocolate, Meadowland Milk and Alpine Dark Chocolate, in 10-pound blocks from the Blommer Chocolate Company in Chicago, Ill. Beerntsen's supplies chocolates to the American Club and Woodlake Market in the city of Kohler, Wis. and produces custom corporate chocolate gift items and molded novelty items for many companies nationwide. The confectionery has stores in Manitowoc and Cedarburg, Wis.
