Sites Homestead
The Sites Homestead, also known as the Wayside Inn or the Sites Inn, is a historic log house located near Seneca Rocks, West Virginia. Built by Jacob Sites circa 1839, the house was expanded in the mid-1870s and eventually acquired by the U.S. Forest Service in 1968. After being restored in the 1980s, it now serves as part of the Seneca Rocks Discovery Center facility. This charming homestead, listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, offers visitors a glimpse into the past with its vernacular log architecture. Once a storage shed, the house has been transformed into a temporary visitor center, providing a unique experience for those exploring the Spruce Knob Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area in Monongahela National Forest.Generated from the website
