HistoryFauzia Lala was attacked in Seattle downtown. She had studied martial arts for a few years but wasn't able to use her training to get away. So she started studying other martial arts rooted in self-defense. Then, a sign at the Redmond Mosque was vandalized. The Bellevue Mosque burned down. Two light-rail passengers in Portland were killed in a knife attack. That's when Fauzia saw a need to start classes for women, by women, to learn tactical techniques and those for personal growth and development creating a holistic curriculum with community building, games and a network of NINJAS! In Sept 2017, after finding space and startup funds, the first Defense Ninjas location was opened at the women's gym at MAPS. After a successful 6 months at this location, and with a demand for a student-heavy location, Fauzia opened up a new series of classes at U-District in Summer 2018. Now, starting Jan 2019, Defense Ninjas proudly hosts classes in 5 cities at 6 different locations!SpecialtiesWomen's self-defense classes for TEENS and ADULTS at 6 different locations! Are you frustrated with martial arts classes that don't teach real-world techniques? Do you worry that self-defense is too hard to learn? If you answered YES to any of these questions, you've come to the right place to find your solution! Learn how to escape from grabs and attacks. Learn how to effectively attack without using strength. Learn how to use your smaller and less-muscular body to your advantage. Most of all, play strategy games, get a workout, build a community of powerful women and have fun! Every 9 seconds, a woman - a mother, sister, daughter, friend - is attacked in the United States. Don't let this be you, or someone you love. Learn to recognize signs of danger, how to avoid harm before it happens, and to escape without freezing if you are attacked. A tactical self-de
