Photo LITES (Leif and Dottie Luglan) is a portrait photography studio with a specialty in group photography (family portraits, family reunions, high school class reunions) and family pets. We serve the entire Yakima River Valley, including Yakima and the Tri-Cities. Leif has spent a lifetime in photography, i.e. working his way through college, in the US Navy as a photographer and camera repairman, working for the Eastman Kodak Company Professional Photography Division (8 years as a Technical Sales Rep and 15 years as an Instructor at the Kodak Marketing Education Center). After an early retirement from Kodak he worked as a medical photographer for the University of Rochester School of Medicine, Adjunct Professor of Photography at Canandaigua Community College and as a Wedding Photographer for a large photo studio. He and Dottie came to Prosser in 1992 for Leif to run the color photo lab at Hanford. After massive downsizing at Hanford, the Luglans opened Photo LITES. We are personable, caring people who want to help you preserve special moments through photography. Living in the Yakima Valley, surrounded by small towns, we have experience photographing everything from baptisms, kids sports, weddings and special events, to family portraits at the nursing home. However, our specialty is group photography. We know how to quickly pose large groups so that every face is visible. We know the secrets of lighting groups. We consider children and their limitations at a photo session. Every job includes some retouching to remove glasses reflections (proper posing takes care of most of that), unwanted items in the background, adding text if desired, etc. Check our Family Portraits Gallery. The 1st image is a family reunion of over 200 people celebrating the restoration of the barn on the family homestead (hence the dominant position of the barn).
