St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Monastery, established in 1995, is a women's monastic community located in Goldendale, WA. Founded through the donation of a 48-acre property by local Doctor Gerald Timmer, the monastery has grown under the guidance of Geronta Ephraim, a prominent priest-monk from Greece.
Home to 20 nuns and novices, the monastery focuses on prayer and spiritual guidance while preserving Orthodox Church traditions through their artisanal crafts. Visitors can experience the monastery's offerings, including Byzantine icons, prayer ropes, and traditional Greek baked goods available in their bakery and gift shop.
