Northwest Trek Wildlife Park is a more than 720-acre recreational facility that houses over 195 North American animals. The park features the Cheney Family Discovery Center, which offers several activities to children. It houses various animals, such as grizzlies, black bears, wolves, bobcats and cougars. Northwest Trek Wildlife Park serves the residents of Pierce County in Washington. The park conducts research on animal habitat requirements, behaviors and diseases. It administers the Pygmy Rabbit Recovery Program. Northwest Trek Wildlife Park has a partnership with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Its Fir Bough Caf features picnic areas. The park is owned and operated by Metro Parks Tacoma.
