Founded in 1966, the Washington Corrections Center for Women houses more than 150 offenders. It is spread across an area of over 70 acres and features a health clinic, gymnasium, chapel, living units, support facilities, and administration, education and food service buildings. The center provides vocational programs in information technology, technical design and ornamental horticulture through Tacoma Community College.
