Wakefield School is an independent, college preparatory school located in The Plains, Va. The school s curriculum includes courses in fine arts, science, mathematics, history, computer science, geography, and ancient and modern languages. It additionally offers student government, interscholastic athletics, academic clubs, artistic activities and service organizations. The school has a library, gymnasium, computer and science laboratories, and research and multimedia rooms. Its athletics department offers various sports, including lacrosse, volleyball, tennis, soccer, golf, squash, cross county, swimming and basketball. The school provides The AfterARTS Program that offers private lessons in piano, voice, woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings and ceramics. Wakefield School serves students of prekindergarten through grade 12 and is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools.
