Surry County High School

Surry Elementary School, governed by Surry County Public Schools, has an enrollment of more than 400 students in pre-kindergarten through grade four. Operational since 1983, the school s curriculum focuses on English, mathematics, science, social studies and language arts. It organizes career and classroom guidance programs, as well as offers individual and group counseling sessions. Surry Elementary School s media center provides a variety of storybooks, picture dictionaries, atlases, puzzles, and fiction and nonfiction books. The school offers special education programs for students with developmental and physical disabilities and for speech- and language-impaired students. It additionally provides gifted and talented education and Title I programs. Surry County Public Schools also operates middle and high schools.
