I always get met at window with a really nice employee. That takes a lot I'm sure at a Starbucks drive thru. My drink always pretty solid too.

If a customer is at the counter, and you are three feet away , the customer can see you are busy. Just acknowledge their existence. This is a useful phrase: "Be right with you". Simple!
