Jackson River Enterprises has been operating as a training organization for more than 45 years. It employs a work force of over 50 adults with disabilities that includes mental, emotional and physical disabilities. Opened in 1964, it provides a variety of community services, such as lawn care and various janitorial and recycling functions. The organization also offers transportation, job training, benefits consulting, work supervision, individualized work plans and work conditioning. Located in Covington, Va., Jackson River Enterprises is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Its range of recycling services includes mass mailings, sorting, assembly, design, packaging, janitorial, stripping and waxing, lawn care, recycling and quality control, as well as custom gift baskets.
