Central Virginia Community Services, since 1969, has been a solid contributor to the behavioral health needs of central Virginia. CVCS provides quality services and promotes the health, independence and self-worth of individuals and families with a continuum of community-based prevention, early intervention, aftercare, and psycho-social rehabilitation services for persons affected by mental health, mental retardation, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders. The service organization is dedicated to providing community education, early intervention, treatment and aftercare services. All programs at CVCS are certified by CARF, a highly respected healthcare certification body that examines procedures, operations and quality of services. The administrative programs that are accredited include: corporate compliance, quality improvement, human resources, reimbursement services, fiscal services and Information Technology. Programs accredited for adult and family and child and family include: prevention services, access to care and case management services, intensive outpatient services, intensive home-based services, crisis intervention, kindred homes and blueprints therapeutic foster care, family support programs. CVCS has offices and residential facilities in Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford City, Bedford, Campbell counties and Lynchburg, Virginia.

The Valley Community Services Board provides mental health and substance abuse services for the residents of Augusta and Highland counties in Virginia. The agency s adult case management program serves adults suffering with severe and persistent mental illnesses. It serves individuals suffering with schizophrenia and schizoaffective and bipolar disorders. The Valley Community Services Board provides assistance with the long-term mental health needs of adults. The agency offers outpatient mental health services, including individual, group and family psychotherapies. It provides outpatient counseling services to emotionally disturbed children and their families. The Valley Community Services Board operates Grandview Residence, a 5-plus-bed residence that serves adults with mental, physical and medical disabilities. The agency specializes in intensive outpatient and day treatment programs. In addition, it offers 24-hour crisis intervention services. The Valley Community Services Board works in partnerships with advocates, private sector providers, public service agencies, and legal and court systems.

Life can be overwhelming and difficult because of fear, depression, stress or a host of other problems. Studying oneself utilizing a process where a trained therapist is involved and can be profitable to the point of changing things permanently. Happiness certainly has to be one of life's biggest concerns. This is readily found when a person feels whole within themselves and at peace. Being a calm, at-ease person is quite possible when certain issues are put to rest. I can help people in many areas such as depression, anxiety, sexual and chemical addictions, violent tendencies, and personal growth. I see a variety of people from young children to the elderly. I do not believe there is one way to help someone, but each person requires their own special therapy. I have been educated and have experience in numerous approaches. I have been trained in or have studied: cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotional base therapy, psychoanalysis, addictions, existentialism, Christian and Eastern religions, brain oriented therapy, meditation and mindfulness, forensics, constructivism and other areas.
