Rivermont Schools provides a therapeutic educational program for students, ages 5-22, with special needs, including autism who have difficulty learning in a traditional school setting. Rivermont's Mission is to help students learn to manage their behaviors so they can return to their home schools, graduate and become productive citizens. Classes are small, usually eight to 10 students, and are taught by special education instructors and counselors. Together, these professionals help students reach acceptable standards of behavior and academic levels in the typical school environment. Teachers coordinate the course of study with the student's public school to ensure a smooth transition when the student is ready to return to that setting.
