Dr. Michael Mariscalco specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee, and shoulder replacement surgery. He played collegiate soccer and was previously drafted into Major League Soccer. As a former athlete, he understands how musculoskeletal problems can significantly affect patients, both physically and mentally. He listens to each patient and strives to provide individualized care while incorporating the latest technology.Dr. Mariscalco has been with the OrthoVirginia group in Richmond since completing his fellowship training in 2013. He is married and the proud father of four children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with is family, hiking, biking and coaching youth soccer.

Dr. Mark Hadfield specializes in shoulder and knee surgery and sports medicine conditions of the arm and shoulder. Growing up in the Richmond area, he played football, baseball, basketball and soccer and went on to play Division 1 college football. He has coached many types of youth sports for over a decade. As a lifetime athlete who has experienced his fair share of injuries, Dr. Hadfield wanted to help others get through their own pain and injuries to get back to enjoying what they want to do. Hes glad to be back in his hometown to give back to the community that has given so much to him.

Dr. David Holst specializes in hip and knee replacement. He loves the technical challenges and problem-solving essence of orthopedics. In particular, hip and knee reconstruction surgeries are some of the most rewarding interventions in the entire field, and can vastly improve the quality of life of many patients. That consideration along with the systematic and technically precise nature of hip and knee surgeries is what initially drew him to the sub-specialty. Additionally, he is interested in the care of patients with failed or otherwise problematic joint replacements and performing revision surgery. Solving these problems can be especially challenging, but also particularly rewarding when successful. In his free time, he enjoys watching basketball, exercising, SCUBA diving, reading, and spending time with his wife and children, especially hiking with them.
