Monterey Elementary School

Opened in 1960, Monterey Elementary School offers enrollment to students in kindergarten through grade five. The school employs a reading specialist, speech therapist, library media specialist, guidance counselor, intervention specialist and numerous teaching assistants. It staff also includes a psychologist and several cafeteria aides. The school s counselor offers group and individual counseling and provides information on a range of topics, such as anger management, grades and friends. Monterey Elementary School also conducts regular parent-teacher meetings, fund-raising events, field trips and workshops. The elementary school is located in Roanoke, Va.
