Maggie L Walker Governor's School

Maggie L. Walker Governor's School for Government and International Studies is a metropolitan educational facility that offers a college preparatory curriculum. Established in 1991, the school has an enrollment of more than 650 students. It employs over 75 teachers and is located in Richmond, Va. The school s curriculum emphasizes on international studies, science, mathematics, world languages and fine arts. It offers more than 190 honors, advanced-placement and dual credit courses. The school s foreign language programs include Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Spanish and Russian. Additionally, the school sponsors a variety of varsity sports teams in hockey, wrestling, tennis, baseball, golf, volleyball, basketball and soccer.
