Library & Resource Center

The Library and Resource Center, a component of the Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI), offers free library services to residents of Virginia who are visually impaired, blind, or have a physical or learning disability that prevents reading regular print. The center provides a lending collection of 80,000 titles in digital cartridge, Braille, large print, and descriptive movies, along with adaptive equipment resources for blind, deafblind, and visually impaired students in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Through partnerships with subregional libraries and the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, the Library and Resource Center supports the education of visually impaired and blind children by providing Braille textbooks, instructional materials, and technology such as Braille note-takers. The center's mission is to ensure access to educational resources and support services for individuals with print disabilities in the state of Virginia.
