Colonial Welding & Fabrication is a well established fabricating facility located in Norfolk, VA. We have a 20 year history of providing quality fabrications and design support for hundreds of companies throughout the area and abroad.Our facility is one of the largest and most well equipped in the area, with over 20, 000 square feet under roof. We have two overhead cranes in our shop and we maintain state of the art fabricating equipment and machinery that enables us to fabricate a variety of metals from 28 gauge to 4" thick plate.With several shears with capacities from 26 GA to 1/2" plate, three hydraulic press brakes including CNC Cincinnati with 230 ton capacity, rolling equipment that allows us to roll angles, tube, pipe, and plate up to 1" thick. A 200 amp "fine" plasma cutting table with full supporting software, saws, iron workers, finishing machines, lathes, mills, a large assortment of welding machines and a recently added 87K Flow Water-Jet with a Dynamic Cutting Head, and a 6' x 12' cutting table. We also have in-house blasting and painting capabilities.All this equipment is supported by an organization that operates as a team and takes pride in everything we do, with a willingness to take on projects that present a challenge. Our management staff is led by mechanical engineers with an extensive background and design experience in a variety of systems and applications, including materials science, ventilation and piping systems, structural designs, and architectural applications.Our coating systems experience allows us to assist our customers to choose the best, most economical system.Our production staff is comprised of some of the most talented fabricators and welders in the area. We have welders certified in AWS and MIL standards.Our fabricators have experience building to tolerances of less than 35 thousandths of an inch, with the craftsmanship required to provide the aesthetics desired with architectural fabrications.
