History

For over 25 years, we have been providing custom tailoring services for both men's and women's formal attire, designing window treatments, creating custom made pillows and cushions, repairing beautiful oriental rugs, and bringing new life to re-upholstered furnishings. Maritza began studying fashion design in 1967 at the Escuela La Igualdad, Valparaiso, Chile. Upon arriving in Richmond she was employed by Berry Burke Co, and Franco's Custom Clothiers before starting her own tailoring business. Always seeking creative opportunities in working with stitched fabrics, she began working with window treatments, upholstering and oriental rug repairs. She feels success is borne out of a sincere desire to meet client's needs by making each project a close collaborative effort. She combines her creative passion with a love of design, fashion and excellence to ensure outcomes that can best be described as artful elegance.
