Founded in 1997, EVB is the parent company of Southside Bank, Bank of Northumberland and Hanover Bank. All three banks operate under their own names, boards and management. The company has more than 20 branches in the Virginia counties of Caroline, Essex, Gloucester, Hanover, King William, Lancaster, Middlesex and Northumberland. In June 2003, the company acquired three First Virginia branch locations from BB&T Corporation. The holding company has approximately $630 million in assets, more than $540 million of which is deposits. EVB is located in Heathsville, Va.
