Aging & Rehabilitative Service

The Department of Criminal Justice Services offers crime prevention and law enforcement services to the city of Richmond, Va. It has a correctional services division that is involved in a range of correction issues affecting state and federal prisons and local and regional jails. The correctional services division is also responsible for state probation and parole, local probation, community-based corrections, pretrial services, and diverse correctional programs and services. The Virginia Department for the Aging provides food, housekeeping, home repair and transportation services. The department also offers support, personal care, and health education and screening solutions. It provides adult day care, emergency, employment, and disease prevention and health promotion services. The Virginia Department for the Aging offers legal assistance and respite, home health and long-term care solutions. It administers the Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program. The department is governed by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Medical Assistance Services Department offers a spectrum of health benefits and nursing programs and related services. It provides long-term care, waiver and provider services, maternal and child health care, and pharmacy and managed care services. In addition, the department offers health manuals and education, as well as various programs related to Medicaid, prescription assistance, group umbrella cover, and state and local hospitalization. The Medical Assistance Services Department operates through various service providers that offer claims and billing information, prior authorization, transportation services and e-newsletters. The department also provides family planning and baby care, as well as school services and a mental health program. It maintains an office in Richmond, Va.
