History
The Vermont Veterinary Surgical Center was established in 1989 by Dr. Paul Howard as the first veterinary practice in the state of Vermont dedicated to small animal surgical referral cases. The goal of the Center is to act as an extension of general veterinary practices by providing specialized, surgical procedures that previously had been unavailable to area pet owners. While the VVSC has grown tremendously since 1989, its primary focus of providing quality care for pets and their owners has remained unchanged. The cooperative efforts of veterinarians throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, upstate New York and parts of Canada has allowed the VVSC to become the successful practice that it is today. Currently, the VVSC provides expertise in soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, endodontics and selective orthodontics.
Specialties
The Vermont Veterinary Surgical Center (VVSC) is a specialty, small animal, surgical referral practice located in Colchester, Vermont. The close proximity of the hospital to Interstate 89, just north of Burlington, Vermont, makes it easily accessible to veterinarians and their clients throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, upstate New York and parts of Canada. The VVSC was established to complement the services of your primary care veterinarian so that you, the pet owner, and your pets could receive diagnostic and surgical services previously unavailable in this region of the country. The VVSC is committed to remaining a leader in small animal surgical services in Vermont and continually strives to find new and innovative ways to improve the care available to those animals that are entrusted to us.
