James G. Rose, MD, Otolaryngologist

Dr. Heather Herrington is an otolaryngologist at the University of Vermont Medical Center and assistant professor at the Larner College of Medicine at UVM in Burlington, VT. She specializes in pediatric airway obstruction and reconstruction, laryngeal cleft evaluation and repair, hearing loss including Cochlear implantation and BAHA implantation, cholesteatoma removal, ossicular chain reconstruction (a procedure to reestablish the connection between the ear drum and the inner ear), nasal and sinus surgery, evaluation of neck masses with in office ultrasound of the neck and thyroid with ultrasound-guided needle biopsy, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, congenital neck mass surgery, ear tube surgery, salivary gland surgery, and sleep apnea. Dr. Herrington’s research interests include quality improvement in the care of tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients, newborn hearing screening and CMV in the setting of hearing loss. Dr. Herrington enjoys working developing relationships with patients of all ages and their families. Dr. William Brundage is an otolaryngologist, head and neck surgeon and division chief of Otolaryngology at the University of Vermont Medical Center. He is also associate professor at the Larner College of Medicine at UVM in Burlington, VT. Dr. Brundage treats patients with head and neck cancer, thyroid and parathyroid disease, salivary gland disease and chronic ear disease. His specialty includes Sialendoscopy, which is an endoscopy of the salivary ducts, a procedure using a scope with a tiny camera on the end to look at the salivary gland. Dr. Brundage enjoys working in otolaryngology (ears, nose and throat) and managing both medical and surgical problems of the head and neck. He finds it rewarding to work in an academic medical center where he has the privilege of working with and helping to train dedicated, enthusiastic medical students and residents as he believes this enhances the care the medical center provides and greatly benefits his patients. Daniel Gerges, MD is an otolaryngologist at the UVM Medical Center and an assistant professor in the Divisions of Otolaryngology and Surgery at the Larner College of Medicine. Dr. Gerges specializes in a variety of procedures, including cleft palate repair and pharyngoplasty for velopharyngeal dysfunction, laryngotracheal reconstruction, endoscopic airway surgery, tympanoplasty and mastoidectomy, cholesteatoma removal, ossicular chain reconstruction, osseointegrated hearing devices, cochlear implants, microtia reconstruction, neonatal ear molding, ultrasound-guided in-office procedures, congenital neck mass removal, salivary gland surgery, pediatric tracheostomy, laser treatment and surgical removal of vascular anomalies, endoscopic sinus surgery, and surgery for head and neck cancer. His research interests include clinical outcomes in cleft palate repair, vascular anomalies and simulation and 3D printing in otolaryngology training; his published research can be found here. Dr. Gerges values taking time to build relationships with individuals and ensure that the needs and concerns of patients and their families are heard and addressed.
