Cormany M. Simon-Nobes, NP, CNM, Certified Nurse-Midwife

Meredith Merritt is a certified nurse midwife at the University of Vermont Medical Center. She specializes in low-risk pregnancy, labor and birth, postpartum care, breastfeeding support, well-woman gynecology and contraceptive management. She finds it a privilege to be present during prenatal care, labor and birth, and is honored to partner with women during this powerful transition. Mary Jo Gehrett, APRN, CNM, is a certified nurse-midwife at UVM Medical Group Obstetrics and Midwifery in Burlington, Vermont. Her clinical focus includes obstetrics, well-woman gynecology, phenomenology of birth and lactation, and mindful birthing preparation. She provides prenatal, birthing and postpartum care, as well as perimenopause and menopause counseling. Ms. Gehrett also offers contraception services, including IUD insertion. As a clinical instructor at the Larner College of Medicine at UVM, Ms. Gehrett's research interests include the phenomenology of birth and lactation. Ms. Gerhrett holds a BSN from the University of Vermont College of Nursing and Health Sciences and a CNM degree from the University of Rhode Island School in Nursing. Martha (Marti) Churchill is a certified nurse-midwife at the University of Vermont Medical Center and an adjunct assistant professor and clinical instructor at the Larner College of Medicine at UVM in Burlington, VT. Martha Churchill also serves as the coordinator of the nurse-midwifery service. She is also a board-certified lactation consultant with an expertise in helping women who want to breastfeed be successful. Ms. Churchill’s practice philosophy is to provide individualized care for women of all ages and promote mindfulness during childbirth.
