Unified Fire Authority

The Unified Fire Authority is one of the largest fire agencies in Utah. It serves more than 375,000 residents of Alta, Cottonwood Heights, Draper, Herriman, Holladay, Riverton and Taylorsville counties in Utah. The authority provides fire protection and emergency medical services from over 20 fire stations. It also offers heavy rescue and hazardous materials response services, as well as maintains a bomb squad. The Unified Fire Authority, founded in 2003, has nearly 500 employees. Its community services division is responsible for coordinating community events and facilitating station tours, fire-related media campaigns and public education classes. The authority s emergency management division coordinates and maintains countywide emergency management activities and intergovernment, private and volunteer partnerships. The Unified Fire Authority additionally operates a search and rescue team that is involved in the location, rescue and initial medical stabilization of victims trapped in confined spaces.
