Eugene Stautberg, MD

Dr. Eugene Stautberg, a native Houstonian, enjoys serving the community near his hometown in Pearland, TX, including Baytown and Sugar Land. Dr. Stautberg is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering. He graduated from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, now known as McGovern Medical School. His interest in biomechanics, sports, and rehabilitation led him to orthopedic surgery. He also trained with Dr. Sandra Klein and Dr. Jeremy McCormick, both involved in education, research, and equality within orthopedic surgery. Dr. Stautberg has multiple published articles, most recently in the Journal of Arthroscopy. Further, he has had articles featured in ‘AAOS Now’, a national publication, where he focused on healthcare advocacy for orthopedic surgery patients and education of surgeons on policy. Dr. Stautberg is an active member of multiple organizations. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Texas Orthopedic Association, where his work has focused on educating residents on health policy and practice management topics. Additionally, he is a member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). Dr. Stautberg is interested in general orthopedic care including trauma and arthritis. He is trained in comprehensive foot and ankle care, from acute sports injuries to chronic conditions. His focus includes sports injuries such as Achilles tendonitis and ankle instability. He also treats complex reconstructions ranging from flatfoot deformity to total ankle replacement and external frames.
