This is currently my very favorite East Texas restaurant. It is charming inside and out. And the food and drinks are YUM!

The Chophouse offers a casual and vibrant dining experience in a beautiful historic building on the square in downtown historic Mount Vernon. We provide prime steaks, fresh seafood, pastas, fresh vegetables and deserts all brought in fresh from local providers when available. There is also a large selection of fine wines, a full bar, and the largest selection of bourbons in Northeast Texas. We offer seating in the dining room, bar NEAT, and a beautiful outdoor patio.

USDA Choice steaks at Prime prices. Steaks are average at best compared to Dallas steak houses. The chicken fried chicken is very good The kids meals are 3 star at best.
