Through its network of more than 800 Michaels locations, Michaels Stores carries approximately 40,000 art and craft-related products per location. Each store offers a selection of arts, crafts, framing, floral, wall d cor and seasonal merchandise. The arts and crafts materials retailer also helps crafters of all ages express their imaginations through an assortment of in-store events, classes and instructional displays. In 1984, with only 16 stores located primarily in Texas, Michaels Stores became a publicly held company. After beginning a major expansion program the company opened approximately 500 stores by 1995. Michaels can be found throughout the United States and Canada. Headquartered in Irving, Texas, Michaels Stores operates the chain of Michaels as well as more than 150 Aaron Brothers art and framing stores.
