South Athens Elementary School

Athens High School is an educational institution that provides a variety of college preparatory, dual-credit and correspondence courses to students in grades nine through 12. Located in Athens, Texas, the school also offers programs in business education, agricultural mechanics, criminal justice, transportation systems, horticulture, and family and consumer science. In addition, it conducts classes in feature writing, computer applications and poetry interpretation. The school operates various clubs and organizations, such as the Future Business Leaders of America, the National Honor Society, art, band, theater, speech, debate, key and student council. Its athletic division offers sports activities, including baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, and track and field. Athens Intermediate School offers academic programs to students in grades four and five. The school conducts classes in reading social studies, math, writing, life skills, fine arts, and special and physical education. Athens Intermediate School additionally provides classes in family and consumer science. The school also provides technology and business education classes. Athens Intermediate School also offers a range of special programs, such as adult and community education, advanced placement, after-school programs, career and technical education and day care programs. Athens Christian Academy is a school that offers Catholic educational programs for students in grades kindergarten through eight. The school is a part of First Baptist Church, which was established in 1837. First Baptist Church has a membership of more than 1,000 people. It is comprised of over 20 staff and faculty members. The church works in partnership with Peacehaven Baptist Church, Archangel Baptist Church, Jeff Boozer, Cesis Baptist Church and Archangel Baptist Church. First Baptist Church supports various extracurricular activities and maintains a choir for adults and children. It is located in Athens, Texas.
