Aamir A. Abbas, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained cardiovascular disease, advanced heart failure, and transplantation specialist.Abbas focuses on providing personalized and compassionate care for his patients. His practice philosophy emphasizes spending time with his patients, listening to them, and educating them about their condition. As part of his collaborative approach to care, he believes involving patients and their loved ones is the key to improving outcomes for cardiovascular health.Abbas is an assistant professor in the Department of Advanced Cardiopulmonary Therapies and Transplantation at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. His clinical interests include cardiomyopathy, heart failure, heart transplantation, left ventricular assist device (LVAD) therapy, and pulmonary hypertension.Married and the father of two children, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, relaxing by the water, and perfecting his BBQ skills.

Jordan E. Grubbs, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon with experience and expertise in general surgery and minimally invasive surgical techniques with a focus in bariatric surgery, foregut operations, and hernia repairs.Grubbs is passionate about helping patients resolve obesity and obesity-related health conditions through surgical treatment. Colleagues describe her as the type of doctor they would want to take care of their own family.Grubbs performs laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgery to allow her patients the quickest recovery time. She performs weight loss surgery, including the Roux-en-y gastric bypass and gastric sleeve, anti-reflux operations for gastroesophageal reflux disease, gallbladder surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and many other general surgery procedures.Grubbs is also an assistant professor of surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She earned her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center at the top of her class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. After completing her general surgery training at UT Southwestern Medical Center, she completed her advanced GI MIS/Bariatric fellowship at the University of Tennessee.Grubbs is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Association of Women Surgeons.When not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their son, running, traveling, and watching sports.
