Otto's Barbecue & Hamburgers, a beloved Houston landmark, has been a cornerstone of authentic cuisine since 1951. Established by Otto and Annie Sofka, the eatery originated as a small grocery store on Memorial Drive before transitioning into a bustling restaurant renowned for its freshly ground hamburgers and exceptional food, providing a "standing room only" experience.

Over the decades, Otto's expanded into barbecue, crafting a reputation for serving some of the best in town. Maintaining a dedication to old family recipes, premium ingredients, and scratch cooking, the legacy of Otto's has been preserved through three generations, delivering a timeless dining experience rooted in tradition and quality.

Despite the evolving culinary landscape, Otto's unwavering commitment to serving genuine, country-style fare persists. From daily freshly ground Certified Angus beef burgers to slow-smoked briskets over hickory logs for 18 hours, Otto's continues to attract patrons, including notable guests like President George Bush and George Foreman, inviting both new visitors and long-time customers to savor a blend of time-honored traditions and classic country cooking.

Skip tacos. $12 for two measly flour tortillas with chewy beef and and a small slice of avocado. Rip off.
