First Baptist Church began in 1868 as Antioch Baptist Church. Though our faces and buildings have changed since those early days, First Baptist's mission to reach the community for Christ has not. We believe the Bible to be our manual, and Christ to be our example. Each Sunday we worship in Traditional, Contemporary, and Blended styles. We offer varied Bible Study classes designed for all ages and interests. We believe it is important to begin teaching the Bible and showing the love of Christ even to the youngest of our church family -- the Newborns and Preschoolers. We also have vital Children's and Student ministries that teach the Bible in fun, innovative ways, challenging kids to make a lifelong commitment to serving the Lord and reaching out to our community. On Wednesdays, we offer a variety of activities for all ages as well. We have an Adult Sanctuary Choir, Children's and Youth Choirs, Youth Discipleship Training, and Bible Study/Prayer Time for adults.

Friendship House, established in 1977, is a relief ministry sponsored by First Baptist Church of Garland, TX, in collaboration with local churches and community organizations. It aims to address the physical needs of individuals who are unemployed, physically disabled, or facing financial challenges in the Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse communities. The ministry provides essential resources such as food, clothing, household items, linens, Bibles, and referrals to other assistance programs, while also offering opportunities for volunteers to engage in meaningful service. Additionally, Friendship House operates a Mobile Friendship House program, which utilizes a box truck to deliver donated items to apartment complexes in the area. This initiative allows residents to access necessary supplies, engage in spiritual conversations, and participate in Bible studies. The ministry welcomes partnerships with other churches in the region to collectively serve the community and make a positive impact on the lives of over 300 families each week.Generated from the website
