Nelson Plant Food Corporation was founded in 1983 by Dean and Julie Nelson. Dean started off by blending together a highly effective landscaper blend that he sold out of his truck to anyone who would buy. He established the blend known as ColorStar and from there began to add specialty blends for specific plant types. The business grew into several segments of the green industry including retail, landscaper, and grower. We now develop and blend fertilizers for many large grower operations and landscapers.
