History
Metcalf Barbecue is a new name, but I'm sure y'all know us. We've been Stubbs, and Do-Rite, but both names we had to surrender to large corporations. We needed a name that was all ours . Lynn Metcalf began at Stubbs downtown in 2006, and has been working on this project, along with veteran pit boss Marciano Ortiz, since its founding in 2015, bringing a combined 40 years experience. Our name may have changed but our commitment to being part of a team we love, doing good work and putting out delicious Texas barbecue hasn't wavered.

Brisket done right. Great folks here too. This place attracts the good folks in Austin. If you're from California, welcome, but go to Rudy's until you learn our ways! Kidding...but seriously, kidding.

The food's good, but overpriced. The servings are about half the size of what you'd get for the same price at most other barbeque places. I often wish restaurants served smaller, healthier...
