Founded in 1951, Texas Industries, also known as TXI, is a supplier of cement, aggregate and consumer product building materials. The company's principal cement markets are Texas and California, the two largest cement markets in the United States and the two states receiving the largest shares of federal highway funding. The company supplies stone, sand and gravel aggregate products to markets in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, and is a supplier of expanded shale and clay aggregate products in the United States, west of the Mississippi. Consumer products, which include ready-mix concrete and packaged concrete products, are marketed throughout Texas. Texas Industries is headquartered in Dallas.
