VHA is a private cooperative alliance of more than 1,400 nonprofit hospitals and over 21,000 nonacute health care organizations worldwide. It provides analytics, clinical improvement, contracting, and revenue and supply chain management services. The organization also offers a variety of performance services that include rapid expense reduction, contract maximization, clinical documentation and product standardization. VHA works with hospital executives, physicians, pharmacists, nurses and materials managers. It operates nearly 15 regional offices that serve member health care organizations in approximately 45 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. The organization purchases medical products through Novation, a medical supplier. VHA maintains performance improvement, business development and purchasing departments.
