The University Center provides facilities and services for students, staff, and guests. The center contains student services offices, space for student organizations, food services, a bookstore and other shops, a post office, a branch bank, study lounges, meeting rooms, and entertainment areas.

The Center for Coastal Studies in Corpus Christi, TX conducts ecological research on coastal issues, provides graduate student training and support, and engages in public education outreach efforts. Their scientists and students work on local projects in the Texas Coastal Bend, regional studies along the northern Gulf of Mexico, and beyond, contributing to the understanding of coastal and marine ecosystems. The Center's mission is to produce science that enhances understanding of coastal and marine ecosystems, provide education on ecology and restoration of coastal ecosystems, and promote community engagement and stakeholder involvement.
