About the Humble City CafeWe are housed in the Pangburn Building, which was built in 1914. The Pangburn Building has been home to a Pharmacy, United States Post Office, Bus Stop, Grocery Store, the original "City Caf " and many others.Humble City Caf opened its doors in July of 1995. Tom Ott has owned the Pangburn Building since December of 1970. He believes in serving the freshest home cookin? with the friendliest service. No reservations are needed to enjoy the wooden enhanced interior that calls to mind gentler times with its tin-sign advertisements of familiar household items from a by-gone era lining the walls. A little country store is located just inside the front door, offering old-fashioned candy and reproduction toys and gifts. While families and groups are welcome, couples will find themselves comfortable in the down-home atmosphere with plenty to see and talk about both during and after the meal. The smells from the kitchen are pure memory-making Southern cooking. Peach tea, cornbread in a skillet, hand-made potato chips and the fruit cobblers are the signature dishes that keep locals and visitors coming back for more. The portions are huge, so make certain you come hungry!
