History
Heritage Garment Preservation was established in 2000 to provide the San Francisco Bay area with museum quality heirloom garment preservation. Unsatisfied with the quality of cleaning done by local dry-cleaners, we began hand cleaning wedding gowns shortly thereafter. In 2003 we expanded our business online to provide Museum Method professional preservation and do-it-yourself supplies nationally. Over ten years, and hundreds (thousands?) of dresses later, our commitment to providing the finest care for your heirloom garments has not wavered. We continually research new methods and treatments to restore, protect and give your wedding gown and other heirloom garments the same care we would give our own.
Specialties
Evenings and Saturdays by appointment. We give your wedding gown TLC (tender loving care.) Unlike wholesale dry-cleaners and many national companies who clean gowns in large quantity (as many as 30 gowns at a time), each gown we clean receives individual care. Most gowns are hand cleaned while some are spot cleaned or dry-cleaned in virgin solvent. We also restore aged and yellowed gowns. Next, our gown care experts will repair, press and preserve your gown to Museum quality standards. Choose between Museum Method or Heritage Box Preservation. Both methods utilize the finest, acid-free and lignin free materials.
