Cotton Elementary School

Neal Elementary serves students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school has a staff that includes an administrative assistant, counselor, nurse, instructional specialist, technologist and speech therapists. In addition, Neal Elementary operates a counseling department that serves as a resource for students, parents and its staff and provides consultation, individual and group counseling, developmental lessons and coordination services. The school operates a parent-teacher association that works in partnership with the school s principal and staff, as well as the community to provide programs and services that enhance the educational environment for all its students. Whittier Middle School is a part of the San Antonio Independent School District, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Whittier Middle School serves students in grade six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and language arts. The school supports a variety of elective programs in band, orchestra, choir, technology applications and physical education. In addition, Whittier Middle School conducts foreign language sessions in Spanish and offers the English as a Second Language program. It also supports several sports activities, including basketball, soccer, football, golf, cross country and tennis. Located in San Antonio, Whittier Middle School is recognized by the Texas Education Agency.
