Cathy breastfed four healthy children and followed that success with a professional interest in helping other mothers successfully breastfeed. Cathy became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 1990 and has re-certified 4 times. Following her first certification, she founded the breastfeeding lactation program at a large Oklahoma hospital. Then, in 1995, Cathy opened A Baby's Best Start in Austin. Since then, she has helped thousands of breastfeeding mothers and babies and has seen every conceivable breastfeeding condition. Cathy has a nursing degree from Michigan State University and gained extensive hospital experience in Labor and Delivery and the Newborn Nursery before opening her own breastfeeding lactation practice in Austin.
