Established in July 2003, NewLife Housing Foundation is a Texas non-profit foundation. We have been called to develop communities for low income Texans to break the tragic chain of generational poverty. We offer a new perspective to build lasting relationships the backbone of all successful communities. Our mission is to create and maintain an environment of hope and encouragement for challenged people and families by providing them with tools and resources to achieve financial independence and social responsibility. Other community's resources are brought in together with college interns with many volunteers make this a vibrant program. We believe intact and loving families with compassionate assistance can raise their children to be better, productive citizens if they are given a helping hand and keep their children occupied in learning after school. We use the award setting Leaps program together with the "Reading Is Fundamental" program and numerous computer lab educational games. The annual programs are under the direction of the Program Committee of the Board of Directors. This committee sets the theme for each month of the year. Then the community activities and outreach programs are planned by Social Services Director and implemented by with the Community Coordinator in each community. A calendar of all community activities and community newsletter are published monthly for the residents. The next phase of NewLife's activities is to extend its compassionate reach and help others solve the Homeless and Homeless Prevention programs across the state of Texas. We are currently working in three counties with state and federal funds to help many distressed families that need financial help as well as educational programs using our Job Skills and Life Skills programs. A forthcoming goal is to help establish Continuums of Care in those counties as well.
